The healthiest plants of the continent- India: Moringa

Every continent and every country bring their own health myths and truths. Most of them are ancient recipes and wisdoms, which were discovered by people decades ago and are now available as so-called superfoods in our supermarkets or are recommended to us by alternative practitioners.

One of these is the medical plant Moringa oleifera, as it is called in Latin. A plant originally from India, which already unfolds its full effect in small quantities. Moringa oleifera is a tree that is also called horseradish, because its roots resemble horseradish in appearance and taste.

The leaves of the Moringa tree are the real secret. In them lies the full power of nature, because they contain important nutrients for the body. The green powder is known and used mainly in India, Africa and Latin America. Information about the effect was passed down from the Indian people, who have been consuming this plant for years. According to them, the tree has the power to cure over 300 diseases.

But what can the Moringa tree really do? One thing is certain: Yes, Moringa is a superfood, but absolutely not a panacea. It consists of calcium, beta-carotene, potassium, iron, vitamin C, E, B1 and B2 and magnesium. The nutritional values of Moringa are worth seeing compared to other nutrient-rich foods like fruits and vegetables! For example, Moringa powder, available online or in health food stores, contains twice as much calcium as milk, almost as much potassium as bananas, 80% as much iron as spinach, and half as much vitamin C as oranges. Not bad, right?

Moringa powder can therefore be used primarily to replenish the nutrient budget and to supply the body with sufficient nutrients on a permanent basis. Just as diverse as the individual nutrients in Moringa powder are represented, are also their positive effects on our health. For example, vitamin B2 is good for the skin, vitamin E provides important antioxidants and magnesium is good for bones, nails, skin and hair. So, those who consume moringa powder regularly will benefit from it in any case. It can lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, which is especially important for diabetics, has an anti-cancer effect and generally provides the body with many important nutrients and trace elements, which it needs to function properly.
